Instructions from the first recorded words of Jesus, in the gospel of Matthew…

3:15 Allow it to be so now; for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness.

When we allow the Lord’s workings to be, in our lives; we fulfill all righteousness. It is when we resist and complain that Jesus’ life in us is diminished. As we begin to live by the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus, He sets us free from the law of sin and death; ie; Romans 7:6b “ that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
Are you allowing the Lord to fulfill his righteousness in your life?

4:4 It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, But by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

As we obey the Holy Spirit, He guides us into all truth. ( John 16:13 ) He leads us into the Word. Not only in reading it, rather we begin to experience the power of the Word, setting us free from sin, the fear of man, the love of money, the lust of the flesh, etc. John 8:31 becomes an experience. “ If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed. (32) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you
free. This is what it means to live by the Word of God, and not on bread alone.
What are you living on?

4:7 It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Immediately when we begin this journey in the Spirit, the Devil tempts us to do something miraculous. Something that draws attention to myself, causes people to notice me and my experience with God. But the Lord Jesus escapes this temptation in obedience to the Word of God. This is an act of Faith in his Father, who wants to be glorified in His Son. It is only when I get over myself and my experience with God, that Jesus is truly glorified! How is this lived? My life becomes one of obedience. Everything I believe and do is out of obedience to the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.
Are you living a life of obedience or is your experience with Christ about you?

4:10 Get thee hence, Satan; for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.
The Lord Jesus was able to resist this temptation because He had already come to the place where He lived to please His Father, above everything else. No earthly power and influence held any appeal to him any longer.
Have you come to this place of Worship?
This is the True Worship Jesus spoke of, in John 4 The Father is seeking such to worship him…Worship is not Praise…It includes praise, and thanksgiving, but Worship is more….It is a life that Glorifies Christ in obedience to the Word! This is how Jesus overcame the Devil, and we Overcome Satan with the Word of our testimony and the blood of the Lamb.

Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able to save them to the uttermost that come to God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
