- Summary: The Body of Christ is built by: 1. Devotion in Love; 2. Detesting of Evil; 3. Diligence in Service (Romans 12:9-11).
- Quote: The Holy Spirit will never speak in a way that does not also require us to practically live out that truth.
- Quote: The living proof of the gospel is in the practical work of building the Body of Christ.
- Quote: Jesus Christ is building His Church, but in the Father’s master plan He asks to use us for that purpose.
- Quote: The Body of Christ is built in secret today, just like Jesus’ physical body was formed hidden in Mary’s womb.
- Key #1: Devotion in Love
- Quote: Don’t just pretend that you love others in the Body; really love them!
- Quote: Be a devotee of brotherly love in the Body.
- Quote: It’s good to be competitive in the Body — in showing honor to others.
- Key #2: Detesting of Evil
- Quote: Most Christians build their fence as close to the edge of the cliff of sin as the Bible will let them “get away with.” That’s why they fall over so often.
- Key #3: Diligence in Service
- Quote: The “talents” that Jesus has left on the earth today is His Body, the Church. He will ask us to give account for what we did with that gift. Don’t be a “wicked lazy slave” (Matthew 25:14-46).
- Quote: Don’t be caught lagging behind in service to the Body.
- Quote: Have a bubbling-over spirit in the Church; it’s contagious!
- Quote: Do your service in the Body as to Jesus Himself; it is His Body after all.
- Quote: Judging the Body rightly begins with judging ourselves. And we can avoid much weakness, sickness, and death by doing so (I Corinthians 11:28-31).
- Quote: The extent to which you pour out your love toward Christ’s Body is determined by your realization of how much you have been forgiven (Luke 7:44-47).
