Sisters in God’s family are given wonderful examples for their ministry in the Body of Christ:
- Jesus Christ Himself is your example in how His submission to the Father (I Corinthians 11:3-5) resulted in Him being given spiritual authority (Philippians 2:6-9; Mathew 28:18).
- The Holy Spirit Himself is also your example in how to fulfill your calling to be a suitable “Helper” (Genesis 2:18; John 14:16).
- The Church — holy and triumphant — is your example in how her submission to Christ (Ephesians 5:22-24) results in taking down the Devil’s territory (Matthew 16:18).
In some earthly circles, women are treated as inferior to men, while in others, women are given equal rights to men. Yet, neither is the Biblical standard of equal rights — which is actually even higher! God has given all of His children — men and women — equal rights to the grace of life (I Peter 3:7; Romans 8:15-17). We are as valuable to the Father as Jesus is, because He loves us just as He loved Jesus (John 17:23)!
Sisters, the most spiritual work you can do isn’t reading the Bible, praying, going to church meetings, etc. Rather, it is fulfilling the exact purpose with which God called you. And often, that includes very simple, practical things — e.g., from Proverbs 31: building trust in your husband that you’ve always got his back (v11-12); being diligent and efficient in providing good food, clothing, and home for your family (v13-22,27); being wise in business dealings (v16-18,24); letting the law of kindness rule your tongue (v26); valuing the fear of the Lord, over charm and beauty (v30); etc.
So, dear sisters, be diligent to know with certainty that God has called and chosen you (II Peter 1:10) to be an effective member who builds up Christ’s Body!
