Jesus ends the teaching of life in His Kingdom with a Word on forgiveness in Matthew 18:35. “So shall My heavenly Father also do to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart.”

Then Jesus responds to the question of a man divorcing his wife.
In Matthew 19:8 He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart, Moses permitted you to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been this way.”

In the beginning when God created man and married him to his wife, their hearts were tender.
Sin bring a hardness of heart that darkness our understanding.

Ephesians 4:18 tells us they are excluded from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their hearts.”
A hard heart will surely excluded us from the life of God.

In Malachi 2:16 “For I hate divorce,” says the Lord, the God of Israel, and him who covers his garment with wrong, says the Lord of hosts.
“So take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously. ”

We may be like the Church at Ephesus and do many things correctly, according to the Word of God, but unless we love from the heart, the Holy Spirit says he will remove His candlestick from us.
Revelations 2:5

Ephesians 4;3 exhorts us to be diligent to preserve the unity of the spirit.
The Lord demonstrated His love to us by putting His Spirit of love within our hearts. This is the seal or proof of His love towards us.
He loves us with His heart and calls us to love Him in return from our hearts.
Proverbs 4:23 “Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.”

Does your love for your wife or husband flow from your heart?
Then, it becomes a spring of life!

In Malachi the Lord said, even though they were coming to the alter and weeping to be heard by God, the Lord would not listen to their prayers, because of they were dealing treacherously with their wives.
I Peter 3:7 tells us that Husbands should live with their wives in an understanding way, so our prayers will not be hindered.
So we see that our marriage relationship directly effects our prayers being heard.
We have been created to live harmoniously, loving from our hearts so that we can inherit a blessing. The blessing of Christ’ presence in our hearts.
